What is GRS certification?
GRS certification is the abbreviation of global recycling standard, which is established for recycled fiber by control Union certification (Cu).
In 2010, fildi company of the United States was the first enterprise in the world to obtain GRS certification. The ECOTEC recycled cotton blended yarn produced by the company was made of recycled "pre consumer cotton textile waste" which was originally discarded by the factory. The American fildi company collects all kinds of corner fabrics produced in the cutting process, classifies the waste fabrics according to different colors, and then breaks up the fibers and spins them into recycled cotton blended yarn, which is then supplied to the weaving mill and then woven into grey cloth for the use of textile and garment enterprises. In this way, not only the waste can be effectively utilized, but also the color of the waste fabric itself can be borrowed. The printing and dyeing process is omitted, the environmental pollution caused by chemical dyes is reduced, and the discharge of a large amount of sewage is also reduced. Once the product came out, it was widely concerned by the international market.
What are the conditions of GRS certification?
GRS certification access conditions: the proportion of recycled ingredients of certified products is more than or equal to 20%;
Use and special statement of GRS logo & label: the proportion of regeneration cost of products produced is more than or equal to 50%
Conditions to be met after GRS application:
If the company wants to apply for GRS certification, the upstream suppliers of recycled raw materials should also have GRS certification certificate. In the GRS certification of the company, the supplier should provide the GRS compliance certificate (SC) and transaction certificate (TC), while the recyclable materials at the source of the supply chain should also provide the GRS certificate The supplier of material shall provide recycled material supplier agreement and reclaimed material declaration form for on-site verification if necessary.
