Product Description

100% Polyester White 1.5D*38mm Solid Polyester Staple Fiber

Description:

Our 100% polyester white staple fiber offers exceptional quality with precision-engineered 1.5 denier fineness and 38mm cut length. This solid polyester fiber is manufactured using virgin PET materials to ensure consistent performance across various textile applications.

Technical Advantages:
✔ Superior Spinning Performance - Excellent processability in both pure polyester and blended yarn production
✔ Consistent Quality - Tight denier control with CV% < 3.5
✔ Enhanced Dyeability - Uniform dye uptake for vibrant coloration
✔ Optimal Fiber Crimp - 12-15 crimps/inch for better cohesion
✔ Low Defect Rate - <5mg/100g impurities

How is it Produced?

The production process is a marvel of chemical engineering:

  1. Polymerization: PTA and MEG are reacted to form polyethylene terephthalate (PET) melt.

  2. Spinning: The molten PET is extruded through a spinneret (a device with tiny holes) to form continuous filaments of a specific denier (fiber thickness).

  3. Drawing: These filaments are stretched (drawn) to align the polymer molecules, which increases their strength and tenacity.

  4. Crimping: The continuous filaments are then crimped (given a wavy texture) to add volume and provide cohesion for the spinning process.

  5. Cutting: Finally, the continuous tow is cut into precise, short lengths—the staple fiber. Common lengths range from 32mm to 64mm for spinning, but can be shorter for nonwovens.

Key Properties and Characteristics

  • High Strength & Durability: Polyester staple fiber is known for its excellent tensile strength and abrasion resistance, making products long-lasting.

  • Excellent Resilience: Fabrics made from PSF are wrinkle-resistant and retain their shape well.

  • Quick Drying: It has very low moisture absorption, which allows it to dry much faster than natural fibers like cotton.

  • Superb Dyeability: The bright white base allows for easy dyeing to a vast spectrum of brilliant and consistent colors.

  • Thermal Stability: It has good heat resistance, which is important for both processing and end-use applications.

  • Cost-Effective: It is generally less expensive to produce than natural fibers, offering a high-performance-to-cost ratio.

Primary Applications and End-Uses

The versatility of white polyester staple fiber allows it to be used across a stunning array of industries:

1. Spun Yarn Manufacturing (Textiles):
This is its most traditional use. The staple fibers are spun into yarn on systems similar to those used for cotton (ring spinning) or wool (worsted spinning). This yarn is then used to make:

  • Apparel: Blended with cotton, viscose, or wool for shirts, suits, trousers, dresses, and uniforms.

  • Home Textiles: For bedding, curtains, upholstery fabrics, and quilts.

2. Nonwoven Fabrics:
A massive and growing application. Fibers are bonded together through mechanical, chemical, or thermal processes (e.g., needle punching, hydroentangling, thermal bonding) to create fabric directly from fiber. Used in:

  • Hygiene Products: As a top sheet and absorption layer in diapers, sanitary napkins, and adult incontinence products.

  • Geotextiles: For soil stabilization, erosion control, and drainage in civil engineering projects.

  • Automotive: For trunk liners, insulation, and interior padding.

  • Filtration: Used in filter bags for air and liquid filtration.

  • Wadding: For furniture padding, mattress cores, and pillow stuffing.

3. Fillings and Stuffings:
Its high loft and resilience make it perfect for:

  • Fiberfill: The primary filling material for pillows, comforters, sleeping bags, and soft toys.

  • Cushioning: For automotive seats and furniture.
