GRS-Certified Recycled Nylon 66 Filament Yarn 70D/24F (Dope Dyed Black, for Webbing)
This product is a 70 denier, 24-hole recycled nylon 66 filament yarn, GRS-certified, produced using dope dyeing technology in black, specifically developed for webbing applications. The 70D falls into the medium-fine denier range, balancing strength and flexibility. The 24-hole configuration means a moderate number of individual filaments, with each filament approximately 2.9 denier, giving the yarn good softness while maintaining sufficient cohesion and strength.
GRS Certification is the most important environmental credential of this product. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification verifies that the fiber's recycled content, supply chain traceability, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and chemical restrictions have all been audited by a third party. End products using this yarn can display the GRS logo, meeting the growing demand from brands and consumers for sustainable materials.
Recycled Nylon 66 is derived from pre-consumer or post-consumer nylon waste (such as discarded fishing nets, carpets, industrial waste yarn, etc.), reprocessed into fiber through depolymerization or physical recycling methods. Compared with virgin nylon 66, recycled nylon 66 significantly reduces carbon footprint and water consumption while retaining nylon 66's excellent properties: high melting point (approximately 255°C), good heat resistance, high strength, exceptional abrasion resistance, and excellent elastic recovery.
The 70D/24F fine-denier structure features an optimal hole count. The yarn maintains sufficient strength for the high-tension requirements of webbing weaving while retaining good softness, preventing the webbing from feeling stiff. With a single filament fineness of approximately 2.9 denier, the fabric texture is uniform and fine.
Dope Dyed Black means the black pigment is added directly into the polymer melt before spinning, coloring the fiber from the inside out. This process completely eliminates the post-weaving dyeing step, avoiding water consumption, wastewater discharge, and chemical usage associated with conventional dyeing. Additionally, dope-dyed yarns offer extremely high color fastness, resisting washing, sunlight, and abrasion. The black color is deep and uniform, with no risk of color variation or white core appearance.
Nylon 66 filament form is a continuous filament, unlike spun yarns from staple fibers. It can be directly used for weaving, offering a smooth surface, low hairiness, and high strength utilization.
Breaking strength typically ranges from 4.5 to 5.5 cN/dtex, elongation at break ranges from 18% to 25%, boiling water shrinkage ranges from 8% to 12%, and color fastness reaches Grade 4-5 (grey scale). These indicators ensure processing stability under high-tension weaving conditions as well as finished product durability.

Total heat nylon fiber incorporates nano ceramic material that absorbs the sun's high-energy band (0.3 to 2.0 um energy accounting for 95%) and converts it into heat energy, while reflecting nearly 100% of the human body's low energy band (10 microns wavelength).

Webbing is a narrow fabric woven from various yarns, widely used in apparel, luggage, outdoor equipment, pet supplies, automotive seatbelts, and more. This yarn offers the following advantages in webbing applications:
High strength and abrasion resistance come from nylon 66's material properties, enabling the webbing to withstand significant tension and friction without breaking. This makes it suitable for load-bearing webbing such as backpack straps, pet leashes, and safety ties.
The dope-dyed black provides exceptional color fastness. Black webbing will not fade from sunlight, washing, or perspiration during use. There is also no concern about the "white core" phenomenon common with conventional dyeing (where the inner white fiber becomes visible after surface abrasion). This is particularly important for outdoor gear and luggage webbing.
GRS certification gives webbing products an environmental selling point. Brands can display the GRS label on their products, meeting the growing regulatory and consumer demand for sustainable materials in markets like Europe and North America.
The moderate 70D/24F specification gives webbing a soft yet crisp hand feel. It can be used for lightweight webbing (such as garment hanging loops, shoelaces) or plied for heavy-duty webbing (such as backpack shoulder straps, belts).
Common webbing types include: backpack webbing (shoulder straps, handle straps, compression straps), pet leashes and harnesses (dog leashes, chest harnesses, collars), outdoor equipment webbing (tent tie-downs, sleeping bag compression straps, backpack daisy chains), luggage webbing (handle wraps, suitcase compression straps), apparel accessories webbing (belts, waistband inner tapes, hanger loops), and automotive seatbelts (subject to specific safety certification requirements).
Beyond webbing, this yarn is also suitable for ropes and cords, where 70D/24F can be plied into high-strength, abrasion-resistant, black nylon rope. It can also be used in footwear materials, such as shoelaces, webbing trims, and reinforcement yarns in shoe upper mesh. For industrial sewing threads, the dope-dyed black thread requires no post-dyeing, offers excellent color fastness, and is ideal for sewing dark-colored luggage, footwear, and outdoor gear. It is also well-suited for pet supplies, including collars, leashes, harnesses, etc., where high strength and environmental attributes align with current pet product market trends.
Compared with virgin nylon 66 webbing yarn, this product is recycled, significantly reducing carbon footprint while meeting GRS certification requirements. Performance is nearly identical, while color fastness is actually superior due to the dope-dyed process.
Compared with recycled nylon 6, nylon 66 offers higher melting point (255°C vs 220°C), better strength, and superior heat resistance, making it suitable for webbing applications requiring heat setting and high-temperature resistance. However, the cost is also relatively higher.
Compared with conventionally dyed yarn, dope-dyed yarn eliminates post-weaving dyeing steps and wastewater discharge. Color fastness is higher (especially light fastness and rubbing fastness), and batch-to-batch color variation is minimal.
Compared with standard black yarn, dope-dyed black is consistent from core to surface. When the webbing surface becomes abraded or worn, no white core becomes visible, maintaining a like-new appearance over time.
For webbing weaving, heavy-duty webbing looms or narrow fabric looms are recommended. Both warp and weft can use this yarn. Depending on the required webbing thickness and strength, single-end or plied (e.g., 2-ply, 3-ply) yarns can be used. For finishing, relax scouring to remove lubricants, followed by heat setting. Setting temperature should be controlled between 180°C and 200°C to stabilize dimensions. Note that dope-dyed black yarn will not fade during finishing, but avoid excessive stretching at high temperatures which may cause color change.
To obtain the right to use the GRS label, full chain-of-custody documentation from raw material to finished product must be maintained, including Transaction Certificates (TCs).
